Fun at Hortpark

7 days ... it’s how long I take to churn out a photo post.

6 days ... was how long my post stay in my mental mind.

Embarrass, yes, I am ...

Nowadays, I find it hard to find solitude to blog and do work that is associated with a laptop without having a toddler terrorising my work space. Sometimes, Ally stays up late and I’m way too exhausted to even want to touch the laptop and blog after she sleeps.

Anyway, here’re the photos that I promised to share on our Hortpark trip last week.

As I browse through the pictures, I can’t help but to think that Ally is really growing up too fast. Though there are times that her behaviour drives me crazy, but looking at such pictures bring me some peace. And I am grateful for her.

Om...

Oh back to topic, I think Hortpark totally rocks. We had so much fun there and plus, it’s free! It’s the best kind of place to visit with an active toddler.

And I can’t wait to visit the other side of the park, Mount Faber and the Henderson waves.

Wordless Wednesday: Cartwheels

We had so much fun at the Hortpark yesterday and I have so many photos to share. But for today's Wordless Wednesday, I'm just going to share this lovely pic of Daddy and Daughter having fun in the park.

Stay tune for more photos from our Hortpark adventure soon!

Jaded

Sometimes, I feel life seems to come to a stand still.

It’s predictable. It’s sad.

Drudgery.......

Okay, I’m just ranting a little.

For now.

I will feel better tomorrow (or maybe, the day after).

Should I? Can I?

(Okay, I know this isn’t the kind of post I should be sharing since Mothers’ Day just passed. However, I’m just feeling a little jaded. Anyway, looking on the bright side, this, too, shall pass. 加油!)

A Long Weekend

The weekend had come and gone too. It was probably one of my best weekends spent so far this year because I get to spend quality and quantity time with Allysa back home. I miss home sometimes. Though it’s not officially our home (coz we don’t own it) but it’s still where we stay right now. Then again due to work and childcare arrangements, we have to be at my mum’s during the weekdays.

And I miss those good old times being the full caregiver for Ally too.

I just had so much fun spending time with Allysa though there are moments that she drives me crazy with her toddler tantrums but I keep reminding myself to keep cool. Afterall, if I do lose my temper and yell or hit her, what am I role modelling to her? All I can say, this little girl definitely brings the best out of me.

Aww ... It’s just one of those parenting reflection. Anyway, sharing some of my favourites snap shots from our dinner last night.

No Pain, No Gain

When your baby begins to speak, it definitely leads you to the new stage in parenthood or another whole new world of communication and feelings. You begin to understand your baby better and gone are the days you have to second guess their whines and cries sans frustration (from both parties).

So Ally has begun to speak a little though she still blabbers in sentences. Apart from “milk milk”, recently she has been saying this word a lot .

“Pain pain!”

My girl? Seriously? The same girl that doesn’t shed a tear when she fall and whose legs bare as much bruises as I can recall.

I have never imagine my girl to be one whiny tod. I am not complaining for now. On the other hand, I find it kinda hilarious as she tries to get some love and comfort over her mozzie bites.

On a side note, we are heading out for an early Mothers’ Day cum Belated Birthday Meal for my younger sister who turned 21st in April later. Have you celebrated yours too?

Anyways, have fun and a great weekend! And hurray to another day off tomorrow.

Measle-rable ... No more.

I can’t believe that I have been away from my blog this long. So long that blogger has changed a new interface and right now, I have to get use to it.

April has come and gone. I have just been leading a regular life like most full time working mums do. Allysa has grown and progress quite a fair bit. She is learning to speak more though she still blabbers in sentences. She never fails to surprise me with her expanding vocabulary. She can count a little and remember some phonics too.

I have been trying to cut down on the time I spent with my laptop and mobile when I’m back home. Whenever Ally sees us working with our laptop or iPhone, she will come scurrying over and insist to take over. You know it’s time to cut back when the first word she utters in the morning is “iPhone” or “Elmo”. She loves playing with this Elmo Calls App. It’s like doing Facetime with Elmo. How cute is it? It works as a morning wake up call for Allysa too.

Anyway, we have just battled with fever for the past few days. I guess it’s pretty terrifying for the family whenever the young child experiences fever. We have to be vigilant and make sure that her fever doesn’t go too high especially over the night. I’m really thankful to my mum who has been the greatest Mummy and Grandma to Allysa. She took great care of Allysa these couple of days to monitor her fever - day and night so that I can have an ease of mind at work and have a good night rest. We brought Allysa to the Doc on Sunday and Doc said it’s most likely Roseola. And boy, he was right.

This morning, we were greeted with a measle-looking Allysa. It’s quite a sight(not the most beautiful, I must say) and we can’t help but to laugh at her “new” look. Of course, amazing Allysa took it in stride. How innocently adorable!

my happy cheerleader!

And of course, I was tad disappointed that I had to miss a Singapore Mummy Bloggers outing due to the expected illnesses. We were all restless as we could not go out either. Allysa was coop up at home for the past 4-5 days. Although she is ill, but boy, is she still as active. So she has been a little OD on youtube and tv for the past few days. Since I’m off today, I tried to keep her occupied with other activities besides youtube and Tv. We went out and played at the playground(it was just us) twice, did side walk chalk drawing, painted on toilet rolls and played dough and painted again. Of course, we can’t avoid the youtube and Tv for exchange of some peace for dinner.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I can’t believe how fast time flies. I am into my second year as a Mum and the past year has been a journey indeed. Of course, I'm probably going to write another post all about my reflection as a Mom the past year and all the yada yada yada... which also reminds me that in another month’s time, I’m turning 30.

For my new year’s resolution, I thought of doing something significant for myself to celebrate my 30th. Maybe something inspiring, a project that I have wanted to embark on but have been procrastinating due to the 1001 reasons why I CAN’T commit to or maybe to live more consciously by leading a healthier and meaningful life as a woman, daughter, mummy and wife...

And again,

maybe sometimes life is not as complicated as we think it is? A simple life can be just as fulfilling.

Do you agree?
happy or not? you decide.
