Ode To Two

Allysa had officially turned two on Friday.

I can’t imagine how these two years have passed. It’s definitely the greatest joy of my life to be the Mommy to my dearest baby. Watching her grow this two years have been the best experience of my life.

I love the toddler stage though there are days the insatiable tantrums and rejections do drive you crazy. But we always manage to get back on the happy track with a good tickle.

I am so grateful to Aloysius’s uncle who had gladly exchanged a staycation over at Resort Worlds for us. It was a wonderfully wonderful surprise. Initially, we just plan to pop by “some places” so that Ally can have a day of fun with us and my mum, sister and Aloysius’s brother.

Yeah, I’m not someone who is good with plans. Big plans like birthday parties get me nervous and jittery. It’s probably not “my” thing and I don’t like how you get suck into spending too much money and time on planning and decorating which probably doesn’t mean anything to the toddler at all.

So, the staycation came as a pleasant surprise.

This staycation was our family first. It has been a long time since Aloysius and I had one. The last was right after our wedding. We got a two nights stay. We thought about it and decided to check in first (just us) so we could enjoy some couple time before Ally came and joined us on Friday.

The stay was simply fabulous. The room that we got at Equarius Hotel was huge. We had the best greenery view and we joked about just imagining us in Ubud, Bali.

our room. panorama view.

lovely lawn. Cable cars in the background.

Of course, the best part was the celebration itself. Oh, the cake was also brought on the very morning of her birthday. We figured out that getting a cake that Ally (and us) could eat is way better than those cutesy or 3D ones which is full of artificial colouring and way too expensive too.

No way I am feeding my daughter those stuffs.

In the end, we got a lovely Strawberry New York Cheesecake and it was yummilicious.

It is kind of tricky to take a decent picture with a toddler these days. She smiles better when she is able to see herself on the screen of the camera or iPhone.

We had planned to go to Port of Lost Wonder but was very disappointed to find out they are closed at 4.30pm. Well, we were too engrossed with “So you think you can dance?” on the cable. LOL ...

So in the end, we settled for the beach ...

And sea.

It was definitely more adventurous and fun. Something I would love for Ally to have.

The courage to live a passionate life fearlessly.

I totally dig the sea pictures. Priceless moments.

Seriously, only the men can do this sorta of play. I have a serious water phobia so I just gotta leave such adventurous task to the guys.

As for the ladies, we prefer to mind the stuffs while the kids have fun.

It was more fun after the beach.

some day, we will conquer this together.
Ally looks kind of uneasy here.

Ally’s 1st tram ride
Oh no. I don’t want the day to end so soon.

We headed back to the Resort World’s area for dinner and some stroll after that.

The little missy was very tempted to go into the water again.

more goofing around.

Our first night of staycation went great. Apart from that one time I had to “save” Ally who somehow managed to tumble right close to the edge of the bed. Fortunately, Daddy and I woke up to no bruises found on our cheeks.

I am glad that Ally managed to fall asleep in the hotel. I bet she was way too exhausted from the day’s of adventures.

We ventured out of our hotel in search of yummy buffet breakfast that does not quite burn a hole in our pocket.

yummy buffet at Festive. and Ally’s 1st too. She definitely enjoyed the scrumptious breakfast.

She definitely loves her yogurt the best. I came across a picture of her a year ago that was taken on her 1st Birthday too. It was breakfast as well.

One thing that remains the same is her love for food.

And see how much she has grown.

chillaxing in the hotel after breakfast.

Of course, we had our last soak in the HUGEST bathtub I have ever seen before we checked out. It’s the best family water play time ever.

I am definitely looking forward to more staycations and perhaps, even family vacations in the future.

And not to forget, wishing our dearest daughter a very blessed birthday with lots of love.
