Measle-rable ... No more.

I can’t believe that I have been away from my blog this long. So long that blogger has changed a new interface and right now, I have to get use to it.

April has come and gone. I have just been leading a regular life like most full time working mums do. Allysa has grown and progress quite a fair bit. She is learning to speak more though she still blabbers in sentences. She never fails to surprise me with her expanding vocabulary. She can count a little and remember some phonics too.

I have been trying to cut down on the time I spent with my laptop and mobile when I’m back home. Whenever Ally sees us working with our laptop or iPhone, she will come scurrying over and insist to take over. You know it’s time to cut back when the first word she utters in the morning is “iPhone” or “Elmo”. She loves playing with this Elmo Calls App. It’s like doing Facetime with Elmo. How cute is it? It works as a morning wake up call for Allysa too.

Anyway, we have just battled with fever for the past few days. I guess it’s pretty terrifying for the family whenever the young child experiences fever. We have to be vigilant and make sure that her fever doesn’t go too high especially over the night. I’m really thankful to my mum who has been the greatest Mummy and Grandma to Allysa. She took great care of Allysa these couple of days to monitor her fever - day and night so that I can have an ease of mind at work and have a good night rest. We brought Allysa to the Doc on Sunday and Doc said it’s most likely Roseola. And boy, he was right.

This morning, we were greeted with a measle-looking Allysa. It’s quite a sight(not the most beautiful, I must say) and we can’t help but to laugh at her “new” look. Of course, amazing Allysa took it in stride. How innocently adorable!

my happy cheerleader!

And of course, I was tad disappointed that I had to miss a Singapore Mummy Bloggers outing due to the expected illnesses. We were all restless as we could not go out either. Allysa was coop up at home for the past 4-5 days. Although she is ill, but boy, is she still as active. So she has been a little OD on youtube and tv for the past few days. Since I’m off today, I tried to keep her occupied with other activities besides youtube and Tv. We went out and played at the playground(it was just us) twice, did side walk chalk drawing, painted on toilet rolls and played dough and painted again. Of course, we can’t avoid the youtube and Tv for exchange of some peace for dinner.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I can’t believe how fast time flies. I am into my second year as a Mum and the past year has been a journey indeed. Of course, I'm probably going to write another post all about my reflection as a Mom the past year and all the yada yada yada... which also reminds me that in another month’s time, I’m turning 30.

For my new year’s resolution, I thought of doing something significant for myself to celebrate my 30th. Maybe something inspiring, a project that I have wanted to embark on but have been procrastinating due to the 1001 reasons why I CAN’T commit to or maybe to live more consciously by leading a healthier and meaningful life as a woman, daughter, mummy and wife...

And again,

maybe sometimes life is not as complicated as we think it is? A simple life can be just as fulfilling.

Do you agree?
happy or not? you decide.

Has little Ally fully recovered? My boy ran a high fever over the weekend and just when he was better, he had diarrhoea yesterday. Thank God he seems ok now :) You're just going to turn 30 only? Aiyo, so young! So what are some interesting projects you have in mind? Do share! Love to hear about what inspirational things another mom does :) Think I need to find some inspiration/motivation, especially when I realise the year is almost half gone!

Oh hope that she feels better! On the bright side, at least you got time to blog haha! I'm also struggling to find time to blog esp now that I'm juggling 2 jobs, tuition assignments and looking after my girl. Blogging is like another job in itself! Hiaz no time like before -_-

Hope Ally is feeling a lot better now...it's good to hear that she is still very active despite the measles. Welcome soon to the big 30, the right side of 30 will be good, I am sure ;), hehe...and this is coming from someone who will be venturing into the wrong side of 30 this year.

Oh dear, am glad that Kenan is better too. Apparently, it’s a virus-full season. Lots of kids seem to be under the weather this month or so. As for the projects, I have many. Remembered I mentioned to you about this website for my new familes? I also thought of setting up an online shop for kids and families. Apart from these, I also hope to help my hub in his freelance PIlates business too. So lots of things I wanna do but just gotta manage my time and set my mind on it. ^^ In a nutshell, I hope to achieve something personally and be a good role model for Allysa. ^^

Well, I’m sure you will bring along the wise you have gained in your 30s as you venture into the new decade. ^^ As for myself, I am looking forward to be a wiser and much sophiscated (i hope) woman of the 30s. ^^

Well not to worry, I'll definitely plan another get together for the mummy bloggers. And like I mentioned on my blog before, turning 32 recently was not so bad for me, If anything, it made me more aware of who I am, what I want from life and also being more confident. Embrace it, you may love it :)
