Never Put All Your Beans Into A Beanbag

Allysa has a beanbag that she had it since birth. It was a beautiful gift from a parent of my ex-student. And according to asian traditions or my family’s, babies ought to owe a beanbag. It is suppose to offer comfort and security for the little babies with the weight of the bag.

The beanbag and Allysa is like fork to spoon, socks to shoes. They come together. And that’s the only ONE special beanbag Allysa has.

Yesterday, something terrible happened.

I discovered poo stains on her beanbag and I was in distress. I can either let it dry, spray it with Febreeze to mask the odour and pretend it’s clean and good as new OR I know it’s time to execute PLAN B - Shopping for new beanbag....

So in the afternoon, I brought Allysa out on our quest for new ones. And this time round, the wiser me knew I needed to stock back-ups. Two for ourselves, a bigger one for daily use and a smaller one for outings, and another one to be kept at my mom’s in case I forgot to bring it along when we go over(which did happen once and I got the taxi to u-turn back home). I can’t imagine the worse that can happen if my girl doesn’t have her beanbag.

It was a great excuse to bring my girl out albeit I don’t enjoy the full pack(of her stuffs) I lugged along with. And of course, I bought MORE new stuffs that I felt we she needs.

Another great Rookie Mommy’s lesson learnt:

Never put all your beans into a beanbag. Stock back-up of things that your baby can’t live without with.

We have come a long way together. Thanks for being there.

P.S: FYI, I have washed the stained beanbag and will keep it as a memento for Allysa.

Oh I know about beanies and blankies all too well! My tot had a favorite beanie which we lost in one of our travels! I hope Allyssa grows to love her new beanies! ;)

Oh geez, that must be terrible. Yes, I’m glad Allysa is adapting to her beanie very well. I even guess she doesn’t know it was a different one. LOL...afterall they are still in the same sack.
