A Royal Proposal

On the 29 April, while the whole world watched with hawking eyes the fairytale wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, there was a story of a Royal(class) proposal waiting to be revealed.

And I was - the female lead.

Yes! I can't believe it and am still smitten with the joy, sweetness and bliss every other newly engaged woman feels. Of course, truth to be told, I was waiting for his proposal.  Right now, I can't stop admiring the beautiful bling bling on my ring finger. And I promise I will be as careful as with Allysa. So far, she has been scratch-free.

It was a (almost) flaw-less surprise. The BEST surprise plan that Aloysius has ever hatched. He definitely deserves the praise for TWO very good reasons. Firstly, he had made the effort to painstakingly plan and execute such a flawless proposal. And just for this, I am swamped over. And secondly, you know how instinctive woman can get? We are (or most of us) very sensitive creatures who are tuned to any little twitches of our men's behaviour. But this time round, I sensed nothing. Probably, I am not "all about Aloysius" as I used to pre-baby since I have hands full with my chores and the baby.

Anyway, here's a little sharing of the proposal.

He had tricked me out for a dinner with the pretext on a couple date. So I gladly agreed and was told to dress "a little more presentable".  I almost had a meltdown on this dressing up issue which I shall not go into detail here. Probably, another post on that. So we headed to Equinox for a fancy dinner date; not some where we go for a dinner with friends. So I smelled something fishy. And it turned out to be a dinner date just for us. Of course, I was surprised. And later, I found out it was a dinner to celebrate our 3rd Anniversary. Now, not that I am someone who forgets dates. I am very good with special occasions. But the way Aloysius and I marks our anniversary is different. He chose the date we first locked eyes and I chose the date we first held hands. So I totally forgot that it was our special day. So bravo, another surprise for me.

At the end of the dinner, the waitress came up with this HUGE bouquet of roses. I was bewildered. I had never received such huge bouquet before. There were 99 roses in it. It was very sweet and heavy. And the instance the waitress came, I thought THIS was the moment he wanted to propose. LOL...but he did not. I was a little disappointed.

After dinner, we decided to continue our night with some drinks. While on our way there, I couldn't help but to share my disappointment with him(honest as usual) and of course, at the same time reminded him that he has YET to propose to me. He just laughed it away.

So actually amidst this little conversation we shared, we were just on our way to the highlight of the night. So when I thought we were heading to the Singapore Flyer for some drinks, we ended up for a ride instead. To top things off, we were the last pair of passengers and we got the whole capsule to ourselves. So as we made our way to the top of Singapore, Aloysius went down on his knee and popped the question with the ring he had gotten.

It was my perfect proposal.

So while the newly married Mr and Mrs Prince William soaked up in marital bliss at the other corner of the world, we too enjoyed our fairytale moment together here at the top of Singapore.
